Driving the business forward in this new phase

Today we are a blue company. Masisa has ceased to be a company with a predominantly Aggressive-Defensive (Red) culture and has become an organization with a Constructive-oriented (Blue) culture. This didn't happen overnight; the need arose in 2017, following the decision to change the way things were done and the shift in focus to the company's profitability. In March 2020—despite the global context—we began this enriching journey as a cultural transformation project accompanied by 17 work fronts.

The culture assessment, conducted in conjunction with Human Synergistics, provided the People, Culture, and Communications team with a general cultural assessment, but also allowed them to examine any cultural differences that might exist between different groups within the organization. It is at this point that the different groups and their characteristics can be roughly identified and defined.

Each management team has its own history and way of operating, which can generate cultural differences within the organization. Over the years, the blue or constructive culture has been the cornerstone of the company's change, including: promoting values, new development models, incentives, recognition, awareness, and empowering leadership.

Transformation process

An ideal culture isn't the end; it's our constant goal! At this point in MASISA's current culture, we've moved from a transformation project (which has a beginning and an end) to a transformation process, as we seek to make blue culture part of the organization's DNA. The goal remains firm: to continue promoting cross-functional teams, leadership, and the talent cycle as part of the value proposition, among others.
