The rehabilitation project of the Universidad de O'Higgins' Teaching Building in Rancagua, led by architect Cristian Pino, is a model of sustainability and reuse of resources. Taking advantage of the original structure of the old Rancagua Hospital, the building was adapted for new functions, such as classrooms and offices.
The smooth and acoustic panels, both made of Masisa's Carvalo design melamine, were selected to provide warmth and meet the modern needs of the space. The project also incorporated a passive ventilation system, with ventilated partitions that renew the air naturally. In addition to providing an aesthetic solution, the Masisa panels helped reduce the project's carbon footprint, making the installation quick and efficient.
